About Tesni
Tesni Jones is a Welsh soprano studying an undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under the tuition of Deborah Rees. Now in her final year of study Tesni has kindly been awarded the Music Award by the North Wales committee of the Livery Company of Wales, a programme in place to help young people throughout Wales to develop their musical talents and skills.
Tesni is currently working on her own creative project, titled Exploring Collaboration. She aims to create an online presence exploring the many possibilities that collaboration within the world of music has to offer. She is thoroughly enjoying organising a virtual concert as part of the project, which will further explore this subject as well as showcase Tesni collaborating with a number of her good friends and colleges. As the creator of Exploring Collaboration, Tesni feels very privileged to be able to work with such talented artists and is thankful for their participation. She is thoroughly enjoying the process of working on creating the Exploring Collaboration virtual concert, and eagerly awaits sharing the final result with the public.
Tesni's favourite collaboration in the world of music...
There are so many excellent examples of musical collaborations that it's almost impossible to pick a favourite. However, I have always been entranced by director Tim Burton's collaborations with composer Danny Elfman. I think their styles compliment each other so well.
Elfman's composition, Victor's Piano Solo, from Burton's, The Corpse Bride, is definitely a favourite of mine. It's a hauntingly beautiful piece skilfully enhanced by a dark yet fanciful animated visual.
